AV Law has advised Pragmatech on the closing of a new funding round aimed at accelerating the commercial rollout of its antibiotic prescription support software, iAST®, following the obtainment of CE marking in July 2025. iAST® is a software that combines artificial intelligence algorithms with clinical expertise in infectious diseases, delivering real-time, personalized antibiotic prescribing recommendations. In doing so, it contributes to reducing bacterial resistance and improving patient safety. iAST® was the first software of its kind to obtain CE marking, which authorizes its commercialization throughout the European Union.

The transaction, with a total amount of €655,000, was led by First Drop, a venture capital fund specialized in impact investing, which contributed €300,000. The round also included the participation of Urriellu Ventures, with an investment of €175,000. The round was completed with an ENISA loan in the amount of €180,000 and the conversion into equity of €162,500 corresponding to convertible notes from a previous round.
This funding round represents a strategic milestone for Pragmatech, as it enables the acceleration of the commercial deployment of iAST® in hospitals and healthcare systems, consolidating an artificial intelligence solution designed to optimize antibiotic prescribing and improve clinical outcomes in the field of infectious diseases.
According to Javier Fernández, co-CEO of Pragmatech: “With this round, we strengthen our ability to bring iAST® to the hospitals and healthcare professionals who need it most. The support of investors such as First Drop and Urriellu Ventures reinforces confidence in our technology and in the positive impact it is generating in clinical practice”.”. For his part, Pablo Valledor, co-CEO and CTO, highlighted the following: “This funding not only enables us to roll out iAST® at a commercial level, but also provides us with the resources necessary to continue refining our products and to ensure that artificial intelligence supports clinical decision-making in a safe and effective manner.”
Both the general-interest and the specialized press have covered the closing of this financing round. For example, the newspaper La Nueva España has highlighted Pragmatech’s positioning as one of the leading startups in health technologies. You can read the full article at this link.
